The website https://www.checkeduai.com/, and together with the web application version https://app.checkeduai.com/, hereinafter referred to as the "Platform”, is maintained and operated by Check Edtech Pte. Ltd. ("Check", “we” or “us”).
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we may collect, use, disclose and process Personal data which is provided to us through the Platform. This Policy applies to our consumers, partners, and any individual whose personal data is in our possession; and over which we have control (collectively “user”, “you”, “your” or “yours”).
By accessing the Platform, you represent and warrant to us that you have read, understood and agreed to the terms of this Policy. You will also be deemed to have provided your consent to using your Personal Data for the purposes outlined in this Policy. We shall seek your consent before collecting any additional Personal Data and before using your Personal Data for a purpose which has not been made known to you (except where permitted or authorised by law).
If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, you shall not access the Platform or provide any Personal Data (as defined below) to us. Should you decide at any point in time to redraw your Personal Data, you may choose to write in to Check to reject the Policy. Your rejection of this Policy or withdrawal of your consent to the collection, processing, use and/or disclosure of your Personal Data (as defined below) will affect the Services which Check is able to provide to you.
“Check” means Check and its related corporations.
“PDPA” means the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (as amended routinely).
“Services” means the services that we, our related entities, partners and/or vendors may provide to you on the Platform.
A. GENERAL
Check shall collect data which enables the smooth running of the Platform for a user ("Personal Data"). Some examples of Personal Data that we collect include:
- personal particulars (e.g. name, school, email address)
- information to prove legibility (e.g. teacher identification card)
- google account information (e.g. name, email address, google profile picture)
- demographic information (e.g. school, teaching subject)
- your personal opinions made known to us (for example, through feedback or surveys)
- information relating to your activities, chats, habits, preferences and interests arising from your use of the Platform and the products and services of Check or partners; and/or
- other electronic data or information relating to you such as IP addresses, cookies, activity logs, through your usage of our products and services or as part of their delivery to you.
B. ACCURACY OF PERSONAL DATA
We generally rely on Personal Data provided by you to ensure that our Services are able to best meet your needs. Please ensure that the Personal Data provided by you is current, complete, and accurate at all times. To update us if there are any changes to your Personal Data, do make known these changes via the Platform.
In some cases, you may provide Personal Data of other individuals (such as your students) to us. For example, you may add them to use Check's AI tutor. If you provide us with their Personal Data, you represent and warrant that you have obtained their consent for their Personal Data to be collected, used and disclosed as set out in this Policy.
C. PERSONAL DATA PROVIDED TO CHECK
Any consent given in relation to Personal Data provided to us shall, subject to applicable laws and regulations, survive the death, incapacity, bankruptcy or insolvency of any such individual and the termination or expiration of any account in connection with the use of the Platform.
D. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
To safeguard your Personal Data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks, we have introduced appropriate administrative, physical and technical measures such as up-to-date antivirus protection and encryption to secure all storage and transmission of Personal Data by us. We also disclose Personal Data both internally and to our authorised third-party service providers only on a need-to-know basis.
Do understand that the transmission of information via the internet or method of electronic storage is never completely secure. While Check will do our best to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data transmitted through any online means, therefore, any transmission remains at your own risk.
E. USE OF PERSONAL DATA
We may use your Personal Data for our business purposes, such as:
1. create a functional account that is routinely updated;
2. to provide relevant information to our users for the purpose of facilitating their use of platform services where such information is deemed necessary;
3. personalising the application for you (through recommendations of tools, special promotions);
4. send you alerts, newsletters, updates, promotional materials, special privileges, festive greetings;
5. notify, invite and manage your participation in our events;
6. administering benefits or entitlements in connection with our relationship with you or arising from your participation in events by us or in conjunction with our partners. This will include the administration of referral programmes, loyalty programmes, rewards programmes, and/or lucky draws;

Where necessary to fulfil our obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the goods and services requested by you, or to fulfil our business purposes stated above, Check may disclose Personal Data to other members of the Check and third parties such as the following whether inside or outside of Singapore:
1. education-related establishments providing education services;
2. partners providing products, services, promotions on the Platform;
3. regulatory authorities, courts, dispute resolution tribunals, and governmental agencies;
4. payment processors and payment gateway providers;
5. any credit bureau as well as the members of such credit bureau (for example, banks, financial intermediaries, card network members and insurers);
6. cloud storage providers, analytics and search engine providers, data analytics providers;
7. financial institutions and other business partners with whom Check jointly offers or develops Services (but they may not use your Personal Data to independently market their own products or services to you unless you consent that they can do so); and
8. anyone we consider necessary in order to provide our Services.
We may transfer, store, process and/or deal with your Personal Data outside Singapore. In doing so, we will comply with the PDPA and any other applicable data protection laws. We will ensure that your Personal Data will continue to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the PDPA.
G. OTHER WEBSITES
Our Platform may contain links to other websites which are not maintained by Check. This privacy policy only applies to the Platform. When visiting these third party websites, you should read their privacy policies which will apply to your use of the websites.
H. COOKIES
Our Platform uses cookies. Cookies collect information about users and their visit to the website or use of the mobile application, such as their Internet protocol (IP) address, how they arrived at the website (for example, through a search engine or a link from another website) and how they navigate within the website or mobile application. Check uses cookies and other technologies to facilitate your internet sessions and use of our application, offer you products and/or services according to your preferred settings, track use of our websites and apps and to compile statistics about activities carried out on our websites and/or through our mobile application.
If you wish to deny the use and saving of cookies from the Platform onto your computers and/or other electronic devices, you should take the necessary steps within your internet browsers’ security settings to block all cookies from the Platform. You can choose to delete the cookies at any time. However, do note that the blocking of cookies will cause certain features and functions to be limited in your use of our website or mobile application.
I. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA
We retain your Personal Data for the period necessary to fulfil the Purposes outlined in this Policy unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law. Once your Personal Data is no longer necessary for the Services or Purposes, we will cease to retain your Personal Data or remove the means by which the Personal Data can be associated with you, as soon as we deem that such retention ceases to meet the purpose for which the Personal Data was collected and any other business, audit, or legal purposes.

K. AMENDMENTS AND UPDATES
Check may amend or update this Policy at any time to ensure that this Policy is consistent with any developments to the way Check uses your personal data or any changes to the laws and regulations applicable to Check. We will make available the updated policy on our website (https://checkeduai.com/privacy-policy). Your continued use of the Platform, or continuing to communicate or engage with Grab following the effective date of the modifications, updates or amendments to this Policy, whether or not reviewed by you, shall constitute your agreement to be bound by such amendments.
L. MISCELLANEOUS
In the event of a breach of security in respect of Personal Data and to the extent required by the PDPA, we will as soon as reasonably practicable provide notice of such breach to the relevant individual, setting out the extent of the breach, the affected Personal Data and any steps taken by Check to remedy and limit the consequences of the breach.Nothing in this Policy shall be construed as Check providing an indemnity to any Customer in relation to any Personal Data or use thereof. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Check expressly excludes liability or any losses which the Customer may suffer on account of Check’s collection, storage, use, transfer or retention of Personal Data in accordance with this Policy.In any event, Check expressly excludes any liability to the Customer which are in the nature of indirect or consequential losses, special losses, loss of profits, loss of contracts, loss of reputation or goodwill, or other tangential or intangible losses that a Customer may suffer on account of a breach of this Policy by Check or any of its agents, partners, vendors or service providers.
